"What am I?"

This object was produced over dinner by one of our friends. The person said - Guess what this is...

We cracked our brains.. and come up with nothing..

    It's a handbag hook. You place the round thingy on the edge of the table and hang your handbag on the hook hanging below the table. I bet its an antique.

    you really had me here... but I had bought one stuff similar which I'd bought for Jenn.
    Is it some sort of hanger which you put at the edge of the dining table and hang your handbag??? Coz it's quite troublesome to put the bag behind the seat all the time.
    Just my wild guess (^_^)

    It's a handbag holder! You hang it on the edge of the table and you place your handbag on the hook. I saw one of those a few months back and thought it was THE most ingenious thing! :)
