My favourite activity on a hot saturday afternoon is watching international time FLY BY.

.

At STADT German Cuisine and Bistro we found the perfect place to satisfy all my favourite activities :)

DSC01837
Seafood Soup - RM7.90
The soup was excellent. A thick, robust savoury tomato base made fresh and infused with all the flavours of the ocean made a great appetite teaser. We were prepped for our mains.

DSC01838
The Pork Knuckle - RM38.90
Given the choice of Original vs. Honey glazed ,we went with the glaze version but were surprised to find the crust rather unsweetened. When asked, the waitress replied that the coating of sugar is added right at the end. Hmmmm.. we think someone might have forgotten the Honey (?)

DSC01847
First the skin. This was not bad at all. The skin had enough snap, crackle and pop, if you like, but the flavour could have been better.
Delving in, we found the flesh tough, dry and rather tasteless.

DSC01851
If not for the extra(and boy did we need plenty) brown sauce and honey sauce we ordered, the pork knuckle would have been too dry to swallow.

Having said that, the menu here at STADT is massive, and we only shared one Pork Knuckle because it was the Hefe and Dunkel that we came for really ;) We will definitely be back to try the other items.

So meanwhilst... "Geben sie mir ein bier... like now, please.." ;P

pork knuckle scored so little? another review I read at buurps.com gave high marks for it

ya wor.. dunno why so dry when we had it.. the texture of the flesh was almost like as if it had been re-heated.. you know, like when the tendons and end bits start to take on a rubbery feel..? Maybe we were unlucky.
but reading your post, i think a lot more good stuff we need to try!

That is one of the best Weizen Bier in Malaysia, but to go with food, I believe Hefe Weizen taste better dunkel, unless you like the roasted light sweet aroma... cheers!

hmm... maybe you can give other places a try??? I just started following your blogs and therefore, don't know much about the past... but here are some places that you can consider (but if u'd gone there b4, forget it)
1) Eurodeli @ Damansara Kim
2) Meaty House @ USJ10 Taipan
There is one Chinese version at Kim Wah restaurant (same row with Eurodeli) which is buttermilk pork knuckle (gravy comes separately)
Personally, I think that those are nice... but who knows?

Overdone and bland pork knuckle, what a waste! I think it is the imported frozen one. Besides the sauce you have plenty of liquid to wash it down.

Ya, food there is mediocre, still prefer Bavarian Bierhaus for the knuckle. Didn't try the German beer there though.
