Peel it, shred it, eat it !

<span class=
You know it's going to be a long wait, when they give you a card, with a number on it.

After visiting a friend who recently completed a heart bypass in SJMC, we decided to eat at one of our favourite Pan-Mee shops in the area.

<span class=
Meehoon Kway! Our favourite sort of pan-mee.. where the gal and guy, stand for hours peeling the dough and chucking the irregularly shaped dough bits, into the boiling soup. Apparently they add a little "tapioca" flour, which is the secret that gives the Meehoon Kway its Chewiness! The pan-mee here is renown for being silky smooth (like the Zohan:P), yet chewy. Perfect.

<span class=
This time, our wait was 1 hour!
Better just relax and drink your coconut water, or sugarcane water and read the papers. The Pan Mee will not arrive anytime soon, it being a public holiday and all, as well.

<span class=
We arrived at 12.30pm, we get served at 1.32pm. (Who's counting.. I am!)
<span class=
This is the soup version. Can you see the irregular Meehoon Kway bits I am talking about? The texture is fantastic. The soup stock is light and sweet and does not leave you light headed and heaving like a bastard ... i.e. no MSG ;P

This is the dry version. Both dry and soup versions are RM3.80 for the small size. Prices have gone up! Just a few months back, it was like RM3.50 per bowl:(

The Chilli here is passable. Not fiery hot, but hot enough.

All in all, a pretty decent place for Meehoon Kway. The next time you are in the subang jaya area, and don't mind a bit of a wait, be sure to look out for this corner shop that serves up a good bowl of Pan Mee!

Me loves me my meen fan kuey --- I always prefer it peeled and shredded by hand cos the texture is different, not so uniform... And it sucks up more gravy too! :D

i like mine thin and dry....i dont think they offer that though. but yumminess does come in all shapes and sizes.

unless served with lard, i think pan mee is one of the healthiest food around, together with non-milk fish head noodle! ;D
