You Snake-head!
If this guy was Italian.. he would be saying, Godfather style.. "What you looking at? You looking at me?!... You want a piece of this.. ?!"
But he's Chinese.. so instead he says.. " Wei? Tai Meh? Lei Oi Sek Bakuteh Cheong Mo?"
("What you looking at.. you want some Bakuteh intestine?")
Well apart from the Bakuteh here, this place is famous for the SNAKE fish (or snake head fish).
The Chinese call it the 'Sang-Yui' and eating its flesh is reputed to help wounds heal very well.
Serving up this snakefish meat and giving it to a post-op patient is an all time favourite of the Chinese, oh yes it is!

So, we normally drive a good 30 minutes to eat at this place. In the evenings, the jam is unbelievable so we always prefer to eat here for lunch as opposed to dinner!
Yap Yin and Bakuteh. Weird name right? I always wonder why it is not called
'Yap Yin Bakuteh'. Yap Yin AND bakuteh makes me think that Mr. Bakuteh is a separate entity .. from Yap Yin.
Getting here early means the right to choose where you want to sit. Don't let this empty room fool you. It still gets pretty crowded past noon.
I think, somewhere along the way, our order got screwed up. We ordered Sang-Yui but we got served this instead - what looks like eel!
The flesh is sweet, bouncy when you bite into it and resists the tooth - delicious!
We (or rather I) could not resist the bakuteh Cheong (intestine). Fantastic. Rich, chewy with no stinky smell - cleaned perfectly and braised to perfection as well.
I finished this all on my own.
Finally the tofu. Simple and yet effectively delicious in its simplicity.
This place is also famous for the Tim Kai (frog), but we did not have it this time.
Average price per head - RM11.00. Value for money indeed!

when you see the post office (on your right), take the turning at the light to your right(same side as the post office). It should be further along that road.

Yap Yin is the name of the owner (and good friend of my family). This restaurant is run by his elder son. He has another restaurant in Seri Kembangan which is run by his younger son. Food there is yummy, too! Ask them for location details. Cheers!
