Fire Meat at Bulgogi BBQ House

Recently Updated9
Bulgogi BBQ house at the new area in Kota Damansara, The Strand. Decent, time-efficient, set-lunches for the working person at very affordable prices.
The Value meal is just under RM10 per person and it comes with all the lovely Korean side dishes as well.
Bulgogi literally means "fire meat" in Korean (this refers to the cooking technique—over an open flame—rather than meaning the meat's own spiciness). I was surprise to see that even here, at this economical Korean joint, they still cook up your BBQ meats for you!

We opted for the RM15 per person because this one offers beef bulgogi. The lovely Korean lady owner told us that for the RM10 set, there is no beef bulgogi, just pork, as beef is really rather expensive.
As such we went for the higher set and ordered the 'Chili beef Bulgogi' (my companion wanted to feel the burn today) and the gorgeous Pork Belly Kimchi Stew. We were already anticipating a good 'crying session'!

Fluffy, plump, sticky rice.

"Banjir"(drown) your fluffy white rice in the pork belly sweetened kimchi stew and savor the heady aroma of pickled cabbage and pork fat and garlic, simmering in a pot.

The Chili Bulgogi had a strong bean paste taste. Pretty so-so and a little on the salty side. We should have stuck to original beef bulgogi to try the sweet juices in its natural state. However, the Kimchi pork belly was delicious! Tonnes of pork fatty belly swimming around in the kimchi stew and truly value for money.

We highly recommend this place for a quick, affordable lunch to anyone in the area!

We swung by the ever packed "WOK Cafe" to have some ice-kacang. Be it negative or positive reviews, all I can say is that this place is packed to the rafters!

The ice-kacang at RM5.50 was delicious. As you can see, it's packed FULL of liao and the thing I liked best was the surprise mouthful of nutmeg towards the end of the ice-kacang! I don't know about you, but I personally adore nutmeg.

Anyway, lunchtime over. Back to work:)
