Jogoya Starhill KL... hardly a jog in the park...

I just realised something this weekend. Buffet eating is an art.

You don't just get up and go to a buffet dinner.

Just like anything worthwhile pursuing.. you need to train, train train...

That's right. Work out, de-tox, starve yourself.. whatever...

But if you get to the buffet in a less than famine like state, you'd better just go home.. don't bother man.. :P

Damn kiasu, but how else to eat buffet la , you tell me..

This is true for Jogoya. Food's so good, you sign before you eat.

I mean the spread is massive. The people (customers) there are lean, mean and savage... And we were no exception to the rule :P

A nice stroll through the dining area sends the vagus nerve into overdrive...

Past the sushi counter ...

only to be seduced by the dim-sum counter....

then on to the pasta counter...

the Sukiyaki counter....

the dessert counter...

the salad counter... (at this point you are like, am I ever going to get to eat.. )

more sushi...

a quick narcissistic intermission...

and we are ready to hit the food !!!

We take the works.

Of course.

The Japanese spread is huge. Scallops, sashimi, sushi, tempura.. you name it, they have it..

I think there was even a Salmon head in there somewhere (groan..)

Herbal chicken soup, duck soup, fish soup, crab soup.... very, very intense...

Then just when you think you've hit your limit, someone points out that you haven't used your VIP coupons yet.

What is a VIP coupon?

The VIP coupon lets you redeem the week's specials...

i.e. stuff your face some more...!

So, we go redeem the sharks fin soup...

the king crab salad....

the baked crab....

and the sweet and spicy king crab claw....

OMG... someone pass the Rennie's....

However, no meal is complete without dessert...

so we soldier on... (no pain... no pain.. find a happy place... :P)

the strawberry moachi was gorgeous... i purposely cracked the chocolate crust to see if it was all pink and cute and strawberry like inside.. but it wasn't :( ...

nevermind... it was still tres tres yum anyway!

then i learnt that Jagoya is famous for their moachi desserts... no wonder la...

The tiramisu was so-so... not enough alcohol.... speaking of alcohol, i feel the need to complain about something.

This Jogoya place promised free flow of cocktails (wa... sounds so grand right..?? i envisaged martini vodkas, strawberry champagne, Mojitos... etc etc.., ) and wine from 9pm onwards...

10pm still no sign.

Very bad. Want to sue them for false advertising already man...

so.. what to do.. keep eating the red bean moachi...

Drink more coconut juice...

And eat more VIP cake la....

Still no sign of cocktail or wine...

......

......

......

then all of a sudden....

10.30pm! Finally ... cocktails and wine!!!!

But look at the wine...

Dodgy right?

Like, the white wine was ... yellow!

And the red wine was so cold it had crystals forming....

And where were the James Bond cocktails?? where???? :(:(

There was just coke and a dash of rum... and maybe watered down orange juice with a splat of vodka... haiyo.... James Bond just left the building...

Still ... our bellies were full, the company impeccable... and our spirits up ... so we called it a night in a relatively good mood :)

Food :7/10
MSG level:moderate
Service: Good (aiyo buffet wat... so help yourself isn't it)
Price : moderate but really value for monies

We will be back to "Binge Another Day" ... ( like James Bond... minus the martini vodka... )

Oh... by the way.... something amusing which caught our attention on the way home....

On our way to the carpark... we saw this contraption on wheels just left at the side of the carpark...

stupid of us to take the BMW...

should have taken the Suzuki pick-up instead... then can just cart this bar-on-wheels back home...

and make martini vodkas...

Like James Bond:)

Heh heh ... cool blog. Especially the alcohol-in-a-cage at the end!
